Horn Soloist - Sam Pearce
Sam Pearce studied the french horn at the Royal College of Music under Julian Baker, Simon Rayner and Timothy Jones. Since his graduation in 2010 he has enjoyed a varied career as a freelance musician, performing with many leading British orchestras. He is the principal horn of the Orchestra of St. Paul's, the Orpheus Sinfonia, and has appeared on many occasions with the Philharmonia Orchestra (as both third horn and guest principal), the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the Aurora Orchestra. He can also be heard on the soundtrack to the Tom Cruise film 'Edge of Tomorrow', currently showing in cinemas worldwide.
Sam is a founding member of the critically-acclaimed, award-winning ensemble Oompah Brass, with whom he regularly performs across the UK and Europe. In June 2012, along with Oompah Brass winning first prize, he was awarded the 'best instrumentalist' title at the Haizetara International Street Band Competition in Bilbao, Spain
