| Unfortunately Bob
Chasey from the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra was prevented from leading this
year's Strings Day, which was held on Sunday 2nd March. In his absence
the tutor for the day was Jonathan Trout, who guided the ensemble with
appropriate sensitivity and understanding. This year the work chosen
for study was the Serenade for Strings by Dvorák, a familiar but
nevertheless deceptively demanding work.
Another similar day is planned for the Spring of 2009.
Details will be available from the Orchestra
Manager nearer the time. It will be open to all violin, viola,
cello and double bass players of a reasonably competent standard. Works studied on previous String Playing Days: |
