Shrewsbury Orchestral Society
All rehearsals are on term-time Tuesday evenings from 7.15 - 9.30pm at Christchurch, Glebe Road, Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury SY3 0PZ. Please try to arrive so that you are ready to play at 7:15pm.
We do try to keep the playing area well-ventilated, with windows open, so please be prepared to wrap up warmly.

October 8th - Strings/WW/Horns
7.15 p.m. Beach – Movt 2/3
8.15p.m. Copland – Hoe Down
8.40 p.m. Saturday night Waltz/Corral Nocturne.
October 15th Full
7.15 - 9.30 p.m.Symphony complete
October 22nd
7.15 p.m. Copland complete, plus Ballade.
Followed by AGM
October 29th
Half term – Rehearsal for those who can make it. (TBC)
November 5th TBD
November 12th – Full
November 19th – Full with Percussion if possible
November 24th (Sunday) – Full plus Percussion and Harp 7:00 to 9:00
November 26th – Dress rehearsal

November 27th – Performance 7.30p.m. Alington Hall.

Please do write markings in if needed.
Please do come prepared having done at least some work on your part relevant to the rehearsal.
Be inventive and thoughtful with your practise. Slow practise yields huge benefits, as does trying to play difficult passages in a variety of ways. Alex and I are always happy to suggest ideas for passages you might be finding tricky.
Please acquaint yourselves with recordings of the repertoire.
