Shrewsbury Symphony Orchestra enjoyed playing in a more impressionistic style for this summer's sea-themed concert. The orchestra was delighted to accompany one of the UK's top mezzo sopranos Siân Griffiths, who gave a shimmeringly beautiful performance of Elgar's 'Sea Pictures'.
The programme also included the fiendishly difficult but captivating 'Four Sea Interludes' from Britten's opera 'Peter Grimes' and Debussy's haunting and impressionistic work 'La Mer'.
Tickets are on sale now for the Shrewsbury Symphony Orchestra's ever popular Family Picnic Concert at Shrewsbury Castle on Wednesday, July 16th, 2025 at 7pm. Tickets are just £5 for adults, £1 for children: https://www.shrewsbury-orch.org.uk/
